What we say

A welcome addition to Dudhwa, this underestimated and underexplored collection of national parks, Camp Tiger Lily offers something genuinely special. It’s fitting that there’s another lodge in this land where Billy Arjan Singh once lived, bringing more affordable accessibility to the region.

What’s remarkable is that you can visit not one, not two but three wildlife sanctuaries – Kishanpur, Katarniaghat and Dudhwa, each of which offers something different. Dudhwa for rhinos and elephants, Kishanpur for swamp deer and birdwatching, and Katarniaghat for aquatic wildlife and river experiences.

Founders Akash Mohan and Jayant Chauhan have transformed what was once barren, pesticide-depleted farmland into a flourishing ecosystem. Their 5-acre plot now showcases native forest species – semal, teak, sal, dhak – creating continuity with the adjacent reserve, plus an organic fruit orchard providing seasonal harvests. There’s no television – nature is the entertainment – and WiFi is deliberately limited, perfect for a digital detox. Oh, and it’s pet-friendly.

Located at Kishanpur’s fringe, the lodge offers six rooms – four forest-view and two with plunge pools. Built using recycled sal wood, Mysore clay tiles and local thatch roofing, it exemplifies thoughtful sustainability with 60% solar power, complete wastewater recycling, and 75% local staff.

After your evening safari, there campfire chats and delicious dinners, then replete and pleasantly exhausted from the day, saunter back to your room, accompanied by the cacophony of jungle nightlife – crickets, toads and nightjars. Wake before dawn and head to the gazebo for pre-safari chai, the forest is a treat when the world is still as you wonder what the day will bring.

Hotel Story

Founders Akash Mohan and Jayant Chauhan, united by their shared passion for nature, hospitality, and community, created Camp TigerLily as their life’s work. Their grounded upbringing and diverse experiences

Camp TigerLily’s philosophy roots itself in simplicity, respect for all beings, and soulful hospitality. Every guest interaction builds on kindness, every choice prioritizes sustainability. This isn’t merely accommodation—it’s a return to the wild within.

Located on the fringe of Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary within Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, this exceptional wilderness retreat demonstrates remarkable land regeneration. What was once barren farmland depleted by intensive cultivation has transformed into a flourishing 5-acre ecosystem featuring native species like semal, teak, sal, dhak, and palash, creating seamless continuity with adjacent forest reserves.

Sustainability permeates every aspect: 100% wastewater recycling, 100% local food sourcing, and construction using recycled sal wood, eco-friendly Mysore clay tiles, and traditional thatch roofing by local artisans. The organic fruit orchard provides seasonal harvests while supporting the ultimate vision—complete rewilding until property boundaries with reserve forest dissolve into one unified, thriving ecosystem.
